I’m Rob — born somewhere between rain clouds, tall trees, and the smell of wet dirt after a good Kitsap drizzle. I’ve been hiking around the Pacific Northwest for most of my life, though I’ll be the first to admit I still take wrong turns more often than I should.

This blog wasn’t planned. It started because a couple of friends kept asking for the same trail recommendations again and again. Instead of repeating myself (and forgetting half the details), I figured I’d write things down somewhere. Eventually, the trail notes became stories, the stories became travel posts, and now… well, here we are.

I’m not an expert, not a guru, definitely not one of those ultra-fit mountain athletes. Just a regular guy who likes wandering through forests, taking photos that sometimes come out blurry, and finding quiet places most people walk past without noticing.

If you’ve ever hiked the Olympics, wandered around Port Gamble, or stood on a foggy ridge wondering how you drifted off the trail in the first place — you’ll probably get along with the way I write. I’m just here to share what I learn, what I mess up, and the occasional moment that makes the whole trip worth it.
