We need your help! NKTA is teaming up with multiple organizations to help preserve 7,000 acres and trails of Pope land; the Kitsap Forest and Bay Project. There is less than a year left of the "option" to purchase the property and we need your help. Under the leadership of the Great Peninsula Conservancy, there is an active coalition working on the Kitsap Forest and Bay project and planning public outreach events. Our coalition especially needs planning help readying for this summers' events. Learn more about the Kitsap Forest and Bay Project at www.kitsapforestbay.org

NKTA is a young organization created by people who use the myriad of trails on public and private lands in North Kitsap. One of NKTA's goals for this year is to connect members with volunteer opportunities they enjoy and that support trails and open space. NKTA has organized working committees: events, membership, trail building and maintenance, water trail and the Sound to Olympics Trail (a proposed paved shared use path for walkers and cyclists of all abilities). Join a working committee or if you want to volunteer occasionally, helping with events or building trails is a great way to help out.
