Olympic Property Group has launched their new website promoting their vision for the conversion of their North Kitsap properties.
In 2007 Pope Resources announced its plans to exit from Kitsap County and offered to work with the community to find ways to partner in the preservation of 7,000 acres and 2 miles of undeveloped Port Gamble Bay shoreline.
In order to get an initial gauge of community support, Pope Resources publicized and conducted a public meeting on July 27, 2007 in the gymnasium of Kingston Junior High School. Over 530 people attended to listen to a presentation and engage in a question and answer period. The overwhelming majority of attendees were enthusiastic and supportive.
NKTA was formed in 2008 to create the plan for trails in North Kitsap.
